What is Klaviyo server-side tracking?
Klaviyo server-side tracking sends shopping events such as Viewed Product, Added to Cart, Started Checkout and Placed Order to Klaviyo from a server instead of the visitor's browser, so ad blockers, short cookie lifetimes and closed tabs cannot stop them. Your flows and segments then react to a more complete event stream.
This guide compares six tools that do it for Shopify stores, shows what each one documents sending, and puts real prices side by side at 200, 500 and 2,000 orders a month. We build SignalBridge, so it is on the list and we say so. Every other tool is described from its own public documentation and pricing pages as of October 18, 2026. We did not install or test them, so confirm the details on the vendor's page before you buy.
If you want the flow-level view first, read our guide to how server-side tracking improves Klaviyo flow performance.
What does Klaviyo already track on Shopify?
Check this before you pay for anything. Klaviyo's Shopify integration is more server-side than many merchants assume, and its onsite tracking guide shows where the gaps really are.
| Klaviyo event | How it is collected | Needs an identified visitor? |
|---|---|---|
| Placed Order, Ordered Product, Fulfilled Order, Cancelled Order, Refunded Order | From Shopify order data, not the browser | No, the order carries the customer |
| Checkout Started | From Shopify's checkout, once the customer has entered an email | Yes, the email is the identifier |
| Added to Cart, Viewed Collection, Submitted Search | Shopify's server pixel, when Track behavioral events is on | Yes |
| Viewed Product, Active on Site | klaviyo.js, running in the visitor's browser | Yes, though anonymous activity can be matched after identification |
Two details from Klaviyo's Shopify data reference matter later. Native Added to Cart tracks one product at a time, and Klaviyo receives Refunded Order events only for fully refunded orders.
Which free fixes should you try first?
- Turn on Track behavioral events and the Klaviyo app embed in your Shopify integration settings.
- Enable Shopify Network Intelligence under Settings, Customer privacy. Klaviyo warns that when it is disabled, Shopify may send the server-pixel events without the shopper's identity, so Klaviyo cannot attribute them and flows that use them may not trigger.
- Review consent. Based on your Customer Privacy settings, Klaviyo may not track onsite events for visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland unless they consent.
- Give shoppers more ways to be identified: Klaviyo or Shopify forms, an email at checkout, or a customer account login.
What gaps remain after those fixes?
According to Analyzify's breakdown of Klaviyo's Shopify integration, four gaps are left, and Klaviyo's own documentation confirms the single-item cart event and the identification requirement:
- Viewed Product still depends on the browser, which matters most for browse abandonment.
- Nothing sits between Checkout Started and Placed Order, so you cannot trigger on shipping or payment friction.
- Added to Cart carries only the item just added, so cart-value rules are approximate.
- Anonymous visitors generate no server-pixel events at all, because the event is never created.
A server-side tool can address the first three. None can fix the fourth, because an event with no email, phone number or ID has no profile to join. Order events are the least likely gap, so a second Placed Order metric mostly gives you a cross-check and extra properties, not new flow audiences.
How did we compare the tools?
We scored each tool on what matters when Klaviyo flows depend on it:
- Events sent: which browse, cart, checkout and order events it documents.
- Identity: what it needs to attach an event to a Klaviyo profile.
- Consent: whether it documents holding events back.
- Coexistence: whether it runs beside Klaviyo's native tracking without breaking existing flows.
- Price unit: orders, events, requests or revenue, and what the bill looks like at three store sizes.
- Effort: what you must configure, host or maintain yourself.
All six tools send events to Klaviyo as separately named metrics, not into Klaviyo's built-in ones. That keeps your existing flows safe, and it means you must point new or cloned flows at the new metrics.
Which Klaviyo server-side tracking tool fits which store?
| Tool | Best for | Price unit and entry price | Setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Littledata | Shopify-only stores that want Klaviyo and ad platforms on order-based pricing | Orders, from $0.35 an order | No code |
| Elevar | Higher-volume brands that want a managed data layer and many destinations | Orders, Klaviyo from $650 a month | No code, paid expert install optional |
| Analyzify | Stores that also want GA4, attribution and marketing dashboards | Orders, from $145 a month | Guided, done-for-you on yearly plans |
| Triple Whale (Sonar Send) | Brands already using Triple Whale | Store revenue (GMV), quote based | Inside Triple Whale |
| Stape and its Klaviyo tag | Technical teams that want control and the lowest tool cost | Requests, from $0 | Google Tag Manager skills needed |
| SignalBridge | Stores that also send to Taboola or Microsoft Ads, want bot filtering, or are not on Shopify | Accepted events, from $29 a month | No code |
The 6 best Klaviyo server-side tracking tools
1. Littledata: best for Shopify-only stores on order-based pricing
What it sends. Littledata's Klaviyo integration sends Viewed Product, Added to Cart, Removed from Cart, Checkout Started and, since October 12, 2026, Placed Order, each named with the suffix "- Littledata". Its help center describes them as one-to-one replacements for Klaviyo's client-side triggers with compatible schemas, so you rarely need to remap flow fields. You can switch individual events off in its Event Editor.
Identity. Littledata sends an event only when it can tie it to a person: an email address, a phone number or the Klaviyo identifier stored in the visitor's browser. The order ID is the unique event ID for Placed Order, so Klaviyo does not count an order twice.
Pricing. According to its plans page and Shopify listing, Flex is $0.35 per tracked order with no monthly minimum. Scale is $199 a month with 1,500 orders included, then $0.15 an order up to 3,000. Plus is $990 a month with 10,000 included. Annual billing takes about 20% off, which the plans page shows as $159 and $792 a month. All plans include every destination and a 30-day free trial.
Strengths. Klaviyo comes with the plan at every level, alongside GA4, Meta, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Pinterest and TikTok. Bot protection is listed in its features.
Limits. It is Shopify-only and has no Taboola or Snapchat destination. Its Placed Order event is new, so it has little track record. Its docs do not describe checkout-step events.
Best for: Shopify stores that want Klaviyo and their ad platforms from one order-priced tool.
2. Elevar: best for managed, high-volume setups with many destinations
What it sends. Elevar's Klaviyo destination can send Page View, View Item List, View Item, Add To Cart, Begin Checkout and Purchase, plus custom events such as Start Trial or Add to Wishlist that you add to your data layer. You name each Klaviyo metric yourself, and Elevar suggests including "Elevar SS" so you can split-test flows, giving names such as Viewed Product - Elevar SS.
How it fits Klaviyo. Elevar says its integration is built to run alongside Klaviyo's native Shopify app, so you keep the existing tracking and build new flows on the new metrics. Its flow guide recommends cloning browse, cart and checkout flows and adding a filter such as "Viewed Product 0 times in the last 7 days". It also describes session enrichment with a server-set cookie that lasts up to a year, which is Elevar's own claim.
Pricing. On Audiense Online's pricing page (Elevar now sells under that name), Base is $0 for up to 100 orders, Core is $225 a month for 2,000 orders and Advanced is $650 a month for 10,000 orders. Email and SMS destinations such as Klaviyo are listed only from Advanced. Core covers advertising and analytics destinations only. Advanced includes up to four destinations, with $125 a month per extra one and $0.15 per extra order. Premium is $1,250 and Elite starts at $3,000. Expert installation is a $1,000 one-time fee, and the trial is 15 days.
Strengths. An established managed data layer, a long destination list that covers advertising, analytics, affiliate and email platforms, integrations with consent tools and tiered support.
Limits. Klaviyo is the reason many stores outgrow the cheap tiers, because it pushes you to $650 a month. The focus is Shopify.
Best for: brands with the volume and budget to want one managed layer feeding several ad and email destinations.
3. Analyzify: best if you also want GA4 and attribution reporting
What it sends. Analyzify announced server-side Klaviyo on July 22, 2026. Per its guide to the integration, it adds server-side Viewed Product, an Added to Cart event that carries the full cart, and the checkout-step events Added Shipping Info and Added Payment Info. It also accepts email identifiers from more sources, including login, signup and third-party forms, and sends city and ZIP. Events land on separately named metrics beside Klaviyo's native ones.
Consent. Its changelog says destinations other than GA4 and Google Ads always wait for consent.
Pricing. Analyzify's pricing page lists Standard at $145 a month, or $109 a month billed yearly, and Plus at $275 a month, or $206 billed yearly. It says it offers no traditional free trial. We could not find which plan includes the Klaviyo integration, so ask before you buy.
Strengths. The checkout-step events and full-cart context are the most specific Klaviyo additions in this list. It also covers GA4, Meta and TikTok server-side, a GTM data layer and attribution reports. See our SignalBridge vs Analyzify comparison for the wider picture.
Limits. Shopify only, and the Klaviyo integration is a few months old.
Best for: stores that want checkout-friction flows or already use Analyzify for GA4 and attribution.
4. Triple Whale's Sonar Send: best if you already run Triple Whale
What it sends. Triple Whale's Sonar Send uses the Klaviyo Events API to send Active on Site, Viewed Product, Added to Cart and Checkout Started, each named "- Triple Pixel", plus Survey Response for stores that use its post-purchase survey. When the Triple Pixel can connect an event to a known visitor, it sends the associated Klaviyo profile. You choose whether events go to the most recent session email or to every email profile.
Setup. The Triple Pixel must be installed on both your site and your checkout. Triple Whale's flow guide has you clone the standard flows, switch the trigger to the Triple Pixel metric and add 15 minutes to the first delay, so the "received email" exclusion has time to evaluate and you avoid a race between the two flows.
Pricing. Sonar Send comes at no extra cost on paid plans, which are priced by your brand's annual GMV and quoted on request. See our Triple Whale pricing guide.
Limits. It requires the wider Triple Whale stack, has no order events and no public price.
Best for: brands that already use Triple Whale for attribution and want its pixel feeding Klaviyo.
5. Stape and its Klaviyo tag: best for technical teams
What it sends. The open-source Klaviyo tag for server Google Tag Manager sends events, creates or updates profiles and adds profiles to lists, authenticated with a Klaviyo private API key. You decide the event names, the property mapping and the unique IDs. The template can stop when marketing consent was not given and can reuse a stored email as a fallback identifier.
Pricing. Stape sells the hosting, not the integration. Its pricing page lists Free at $0 for up to 10,000 requests, Pro at $20 a month ($17 billed annually) for up to 500,000 requests, Business at $100 for 5 million and Enterprise at $200 for 20 million. Stape also lists a Shopify app for the container setup.
Strengths. The lowest recurring cost and the most control, plus access to everything server-side GTM can do.
Limits. Everything else is yours: the web container and data layer, mapping to Klaviyo's schema, identity, retries and monitoring. If you have no GTM experience, expect to spend more in time than you save in fees.
Best for: teams with tagging skills that want to own the pipeline.
6. SignalBridge: best for Taboola or Microsoft Ads delivery, bot filtering and non-Shopify stores
What it sends. SignalBridge's Klaviyo integration sends eight metrics, each ending in "- SignalBridge SS": Viewed Product, Added to Cart, Started Checkout, Placed Order, Ordered Product, Cancelled Order, Fulfilled Order and Refunded Order. Events need an email address, phone number or external ID, and events without one are skipped. Marketing consent is applied before delivery, so events are held back when consent was denied or required and not granted. Each event is queued durably with a unique ID, retried on rate limits and server errors, and ignored by Klaviyo if repeated. Klaviyo counts as one connected platform.
Setup. Create a private Klaviyo API key with Accounts Read and Events Write access, paste it into SignalBridge and run the connection test. No theme code is needed with the Shopify app. Our setup guide walks through it.
Pricing. Plans bill accepted events, including page views. Starter is $29 a month for 20,000 events and two platforms, Growth is $79 for 50,000 and unlimited platforms, and Pro is $129 for 150,000. Every plan has a 14-day free trial.
Strengths. The same events can go to Meta, Google Ads, GA4, TikTok, Microsoft Ads and Taboola, and bot filtering is built in. The script also works beyond Shopify, though the cancel, fulfil and refund metrics need Shopify order data.
Limits, stated plainly. Event-based pricing is harder to forecast than order-based pricing. Added to Cart carries the product, quantity and cart value, and we do not document full-cart contents. There are no checkout-step events and no collection or search events. There is no Snapchat or Pinterest destination yet. It is a newer product with no review history, so Littledata and Elevar have far longer track records.
Best for: stores that need Klaviyo alongside Taboola or Microsoft Ads, want bot filtering, or run outside Shopify.
Which Klaviyo events does each tool send?
| Tool | Browse and cart events | Checkout events | Order events | Metric names |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Littledata | Viewed Product, Added to Cart, Removed from Cart | Checkout Started | Placed Order | "- Littledata" |
| Elevar | View Item List, View Item, Add To Cart, Page View | Begin Checkout | Purchase | You choose, "Elevar SS" suggested |
| Analyzify | Viewed Product, Added to Cart with full cart | Added Shipping Info, Added Payment Info | Not stated | Separately named metrics |
| Triple Whale | Active on Site, Viewed Product, Added to Cart | Checkout Started | None | "- Triple Pixel" |
| Stape tag | Any event you map | Any event you map | Any event you map | You choose |
| SignalBridge | Viewed Product, Added to Cart | Started Checkout | Placed Order, Ordered Product, Cancelled, Fulfilled, Refunded | "- SignalBridge SS" |
What does each tool cost at 200, 500 and 2,000 orders a month?
Pricing units differ, so a fair comparison needs a store size. The table uses monthly billing, the prices above and the cheapest combination of plan and overage on each tool's own pricing page.
| Tool | 200 orders | 500 orders | 2,000 orders | How the figure is built |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Littledata | $70 | $175 | $274 | Flex at $0.35 an order; Scale at $199 plus $0.15 an order above 1,500 |
| Elevar | $650 | $650 | $650 | Advanced, the cheapest plan listing Klaviyo, up to 10,000 orders |
| Analyzify | $145 | $145 | $145 | Standard on monthly billing, assuming Klaviyo is included, which we could not confirm |
| Triple Whale | Quote | Quote | Quote | Priced by GMV, Sonar Send included on paid plans |
| Stape hosting | $20 | $20 | $20 | Pro tier as a starting point, plus your own setup and maintenance time |
| SignalBridge | $79 | $129 | $299 | At 200 events per order: Growth, Pro, and Ultra plus overage |
Treat the SignalBridge row as an illustration and not a measurement. It assumes 200 tracked events per order, the same assumption we use in our Analyzify comparison, because SignalBridge counts every accepted event, page views included. A browse-heavy store with a low conversion rate pays more per order, and a store with strong conversion pays less. Order-based tools such as Littledata, Elevar and Analyzify do not move with your traffic, which makes them easier to forecast.
Two more points keep the comparison honest. Elevar's price buys more than Klaviyo, including up to four destinations and a managed data layer. And at 500 orders a month the managed tools with published prices run from $129 to $650, about five times apart, so the choice depends more on what else you need than on the entry price. For a wider cost view, see our server-side tracking pricing comparison.
How do you run a server-side layer next to Klaviyo's native tracking?
The vendors agree on the pattern, even though their metric names differ:
- Keep your native flows running. None of these tools replaces Klaviyo's Shopify integration, and the native order and subscription sync stays in place.
- Clone one flow at a time. Start with browse abandonment, because Viewed Product is the event most affected by the browser.
- Change the clone's trigger to the new metric, such as Viewed Product - Elevar SS or Viewed Product - SignalBridge SS.
- Add reciprocal exclusions so a shopper who already received the native flow's email is skipped by the clone, for example "Viewed Product 0 times in the last 7 days". Analyzify's guide notes that Klaviyo does not deduplicate messages between separately named metrics, and that a metric trigger accepts only one metric at a time.
- Delay the clone slightly, as Triple Whale recommends with its extra 15 minutes, so the exclusion evaluates before the second email is queued.
- Compare for 14 to 30 days before you retire anything. Our flow performance guide covers the test design, and our browse abandonment troubleshooting guide lists why events go missing in the first place.
What should you watch for with any tool?
- Identity is the ceiling. Every tool needs an email, phone number or ID on the event. Collecting them earlier, through forms and login, raises the share of events that can be used. Our first-party data strategy guide covers it.
- Bounce risk. Littledata's documentation warns that profiles created from checkout events carry an email that neither Shopify nor Klaviyo verifies, so a flow triggered by them is often the first to email a new address and takes the bounce if it is bad. The advice applies to any tool that creates profiles from events, so watch your bounce rate in the first weeks.
- Consent. Confirm how each tool treats visitors who have not agreed to marketing tracking, and how that lines up with your banner and Klaviyo's own consent handling.
- One revenue source. Keep purchase-based reporting and flow filters on one Placed Order metric, so a second metric does not muddy the numbers.
- Ad platforms too. If you also want server-side delivery to Meta or Google, check destination coverage before you choose. Our guides to the best Facebook CAPI tools and the best Elevar alternatives cover that side.
How do you choose?
| If this describes you | Start with |
|---|---|
| Shopify only, want Klaviyo and ads at the lowest managed price | Littledata |
| High order volume, many destinations, want managed support | Elevar Advanced |
| Already use Analyzify, or want checkout-step and full-cart events | Analyzify, after confirming the Klaviyo plan |

FAQ
What is the best Klaviyo server-side tracking tool?
It depends on the store. Littledata suits Shopify-only stores on order-based pricing, Elevar suits high-volume brands that want many managed destinations, Analyzify and Triple Whale suit stores already using them, Stape suits technical teams and SignalBridge suits stores that also send to Taboola or Microsoft Ads. Compare cost at your own order volume, because the units differ.
Does Klaviyo have server-side tracking built in?
Partly. Klaviyo syncs order events from Shopify's data, fires Checkout Started from Shopify's checkout once an email is entered, and sends Added to Cart, Viewed Collection and Submitted Search through Shopify's server pixel for identified visitors. Viewed Product and Active on Site still run in the browser through klaviyo.js.
Is Elevar's Klaviyo integration included in every plan?
No. On its pricing page, Elevar lists email and SMS destinations such as Klaviyo from the Advanced plan at $650 a month. The Base and Core plans cover advertising and analytics destinations only.
How much does Klaviyo server-side tracking cost?
At 500 orders a month on monthly billing, the tools in this guide cost roughly $129 to $650. Littledata is about $175, Analyzify $145 if its Standard plan includes Klaviyo, Elevar $650 and SignalBridge about $129 at 200 events per order. Stape hosting starts at $20, plus your setup time, and Triple Whale is quote based.
Will server-side events make my Klaviyo flows send duplicate emails?
Not by themselves, because the events arrive as separate metrics and your existing flows keep using Klaviyo's own. Duplicates appear when you run a second flow for the same journey without exclusions. Clone the flow, change the trigger, add reciprocal exclusion filters and test with a profile first.
Can server-side tracking email visitors who never gave an email address?
No. Every tool needs an email address, phone number or Klaviyo identifier on the event. Server-side delivery stops the browser from losing events from identified visitors, but an anonymous visitor has no profile to attach an event to.
Can I send events to Klaviyo without a tool?
Yes. You can call Klaviyo's Events API from your own backend or use a server-side GTM container with a Klaviyo tag. You then own the mapping, identity, retries and monitoring, so the saving in fees can be offset by developer time.
